Looking for a Good Way to Spend the Summer?

Students! (Current sixth form or university students, and those graduating this summer),

We are looking for ‘(expenses-only) paid’ student workers to campaign/leaflet/door-knock in Norwich this June through to September (and each succeeding summer, through to the next General Election).

Come to this key Green target area, and help us break through further! Norwich South is one the national party target constituencies. Student help this summer will enable us to build up our vote ahead of the next General Election and increase the number of council wards in the constituency in which we are actively working. We currently hold nine seats on Norwich City Council and have the potential to make further gains and become the second party at this year’s local elections (see overleaf for details).

Young Greens attended the Spring Party Conference in March held in Swansea. It was great to see each other again and join in in the controversial debates taking place (such as whether there should be a leadership of the Party). There were also lots of good fringes taking place on topics such as the secret genocide taking place in West Papua, Dafur, Green Party education policy, carbon creditting, a women's only fringe and much more. There were of course the key note speeches held by our male and female Principle Speakers, Sian Berry and Derek Wall and lots of socialising in the evening.

Young Greens held a stall with all our campaign material including, Stop Trident, Anti-Xenophobia and No to ID and held a fringe meeting updating everyone on what we are doing. We also brainstormed for further ideas on how to take our campaigns forward. (Get hold of Young Greens campaign packs by e-mailing admin@younggreens.org.uk to get involved!)
