Are you:

  1. Wondering what to do this summer?

  2. Interested in politics or campaigning work and keen to gain some first hand experience?

  3. Wanting to channel your anger with the government into something more positive?

If so, Greens for Parliament invite you to take part in this year’s summer internship scheme in our target constituencies of Brighton Pavilion, Lewisham Deptford and Norwich South to help get Caroline Lucas, Darren Johnson and Adrian Ramsay into Parliament.

The internships are open to current sixth form or university students, as well as those graduating this summer. You can volunteer for any period between 1 and 12 weeks. The work will mostly involve door-knocking and speaking to voters, but may also include leafleting and other miscellaneous Green tasks. We make efforts to make our internships varied, so you can develop a variety of skills. Full training provided. Travel expenses reimbursed by prior agreement. Exact hours and work will vary depending on constituency.

Norwich South

Caroline Lucas has represented the south east in the European Parliament for the past ten years.

At the last local elections the Greens won 12 council seats and more votes than any other party in the Brighton Pavilion constituency, putting us clearly in the lead for the next Westminster fight. After reaching 22% of the vote in the 2005 general election, and 30% of the vote in the 2007 local elections, we are now in our strongest position ever.

Darren Johnson has been a councillor in Lewisham for six years, a member of the London Assembly for eight years, and is one of the best known politicians in London.

Darren achieved our second highest vote in the 2005 general election in the Lewisham Deptford constituency and in 2006, six Greens were elected to Lewisham Council. The local party has been busy since then targeting more wards and strengthening local support.

Adrian Ramsay is the leader of the thirteen-strong Green group on the City Council. He will be challenging former Home Secretary Charles Clarke for the Norwich South seat at the next election.

The Greens came first across the constituency in the local elections this May, with 33% of the vote. Since then, party members in Norwich have been busy building more support for Adrian to become their local MP.
