We have booked some Young Green acommodation for Conference available on a first come first served basis. The accommodation is available to YGs at a subsidised rate of £35 in total for Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights YGs. Should you not require accommodation for all three of these nights then get in touch and we will see what we can arrange. This does not include breakfast so you will have to do your own thing for breakfast. The accommodation is very close to the venue.
If you want to make use of this offer please send me an email and include: your full name, phone number, local group (if you have one), and any of the following preferences should you have them: early riser/night owl; must have own private room/will only share with men/women; would like to share with partner; would like to share room with specific people. We will do our best to accommodate preferences.
Additionally, please make note of the following Young Greens activities and opportunities at Conference:
Targetting Student Wards Training Workshop, 12:30pm Sunday
Young Greens have a lot to share with local parties on how best to run election campaigns to get the student vote. This will be a participative workshop, and the more Young Greens who attend the more we will get out of the session.
Young Greens Fringes
The YGs are running 2 fringes at Conference:
Young Greens Committee Meeting, Friday 17:00. All are welcome to attend this. Don't be put off by the word 'committee', the meeting is open to all and is a fantastic way to find out more about what the Young Greens are up to and how you can get involved.
Young Greens Campaigns Fringe, Saturday 19:00. Help us choose our campaigns for the coming year and decide how we can best support local groups in running them. This meeting will be followed by a Young Greens social, details of which tbc. If you would like to organise the social then please let me know.
Young Greens Quiz and Socials
There will be a YG social on Saturday night following the YG Campaigns Fringe. Details tbc, if you would like to help organise this please get in touch with me.
The Young Greens will be running a fundraising quiz on Sunday night as part of the Conference entertainment schedule. If you would like to help organise/run the quiz then please get in touch with Marek Powley: marek at powley.demon.co.uk. Your contribution could be as simple as sending us one Q or a round of Qs.
Young Greens Stall
As usual the Young Greens will have a stall at Conference. The stall will be constantly (wo)manned so please get in touch with me if you would like to volunteer to be on the rota.
Volunteer at Conference and get in for free
There are two ways to volunteer and in doing so gain free entry to Conferece:
Conference Stewards:
As usual we need volunteers to help with front of house and stewarding at conference. It's great fun and you get into conference free in exchange for doing a three-hour shift each day. Training provided. Please contact Mohammed Jiwa (mohammed.jiwa at gmail.com) if you wish to volunteer, or if you would like any more information.
Green Party Shop volunteers:
We also need a few volunteers to staff our new 'Green Party Shop' that we hope will be launched at conference. The successor to Green Trade, it will be the place to buy rosettes, badges, stickers, the 'party in a box' and 'elections in a box' that are being launched at conference, among other things. As with the stewards, volunteers will do a shift on the shop stall each day, in lieu of conference fees. If you would be interested in helping to staff this, please contact sue.luxton at greenparty.org.uk.
See you in Blackpool!!
