Green Party Conference is approaching fast. This will be a fantastic opportunity to get to know other Young Greens, participate in Green Party democratic processes, and get to know more about the Party. Book early to receive discount. For those students living on a shoe-string, free entrance to Conference can be obtained if you volunteer as a steward in exchange for a 3-4 hour shift each day. Full details of the event are below...

SPRING CONFERENCE, 20TH-23RD MARCH 2009, BLACKPOOL WINTER GARDENS
BOOK YOUR PLACE NOW TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF OUR EARLY BIRD 25% DISCOUNT.

In addition to the usual conference business, a special programme of training events is being planned for the Sunday, including sessions on running election campaigns, setting up a local party website, dealing with the media and how to build your local party.

All members are welcome to attend, whether for all four days or just a day or two at the weekend. We make a special effort to make conference first-timers and new members feel welcome. You can also use our Facebook event to ask other members any queries you may have about conference: http://tinyurl.com/6ktr7m. The venue is fully accessible and close to Blackpool North train station as well as the town centre and the beach.

Book your place using the form in the recent Green World or download a form at: http://www.greenparty.org.uk/conference.

The accommodation booking website can be found at: https://www.conferencebookings.co.uk/delegate/BCTGREENPARTY2009. Book early to get the cheapest and most conveniently located b&bs/hotels!

A. Stalls and fringe requests:

To request a fringe, please complete the fringe request form available on the members’ website and e-mail it to John Street john at cloverevents.org by Thursday 15th January. To book a stall, or place an advert in the
conference guide, please contact Leila Kiersch (leila at cloverevents.org). There is a 25% discount on all external bookings received before 15th January 2009. Internal party stalls are free, capacity permitting.

B. Creche bookings:

If you wish to place your child in the crèche while you attend conference, you must book their place before 21st February. E-mail Leila at cloverevents.org for details.

C. Conference Stewards:

As usual we need volunteers to help with front of house and stewarding at conference. It’s great fun and you get into conference free in exchange for doing a three-hour shift each day. Training provided.

D. Green Party Shop volunteers:

We also need a few volunteers to staff our new 'Green Party Shop' that we hope will be launched at conference. The successor to Green Trade, it will be the place to buy rosettes, badges, stickers, the 'party in a box' and 'elections in a box' that are being launched at conference, among other things. As with the stewards, volunteers will do a shift on the shop stall each day, in lieu of conference fees.  If you would be interested in helping to staff this, please contact sue.luxton at greenparty.org.uk.
