Wow! It’s been awhile since I wrote an article but I’m back! =) and I’m here to discuss
The Army
and ask do we really need it?
Right, the army what’s the deal with them? Going out to wars, killing people, why would you want to kill someone? A man or a women who might have a husband or a wife and kids who they will never return home to see again? WHY? ask yourself now, would you really be prepared to do that?
There’s a lot of people in my school year who go to cadets there already brainwashing younger people into going out to solve conflict by killing and fighting….. Funny really fighting, wasn’t it in school were the teachers always told us not to fight its not the way to solve an argument, and to talk it through? Well hello teacher open up your eyes there are adults fighting because of an argument or because they want more power and money, why cant they talk it through?
I asked a boy in my class who goes to cadets “do you think we should get rid of the army?” and he very angrily replied, “no because a country needs an army for protection”. Protection Ha! If we all just left each other alone and talked then we wouldn’t need protection. In my opinion I think the world with out an army would be a better, and calm place, but I guess that would be a dream world… it would be nice though wouldn’t it? Peace without having to fight and kill.
I think the British government should bring back our British soldiers back from Iraq, there is nothing else left there! We yet again followed the USA to get one man out and to help the people have a better environment and community well that’s all done now, the bad people are out why cant we just let them live there life’s now? Families want their husbands, wife’s, sons, daughters, boyfriends, girlfriends, aunts and uncles back! If there even still alive?
There is one small advantage of having an army and that is it keeps bad messed up people out of this world and the community we live in, but then I have to ask myself again isn’t that what we have the police force for? So why not just have a police force? Some people I know are going to feel totally against this article and I’m sorry for that but to be honest, why cant we settle a conflict by talking it through? Like adults? Why do we need to fight and kill? Is it really worth it? Are we all that messed up? I know I’m not are you?
Younger children will watch the news and see bombs, guns, tanks and fighting. They then will think its right and fight in schools and out of schools, younger children look up to the “adults, they will look up to the “adults” in the army and copy because there “adults” and what they do must be all right and its okay for them to do the same… or are they adults? Is the government just sending out more little children to fight for them because there in a bit strop and are being little children themselves? Why cant they be civil and talk things through? Its no hard “children” can do it.
We are all human and hate to admit to our mistakes but you know, sometimes we have to, and wherever we like it or not we have to move on with our lives, you learn that has u get older…. The government are adults? Aren’t they? Why be stubborn? Just accept things and move on! As soon as we can get to that stage in this world we can get rid of the army stick with the police force that’s enough isn’t it? Solving conflict by fighting Ha! it’s a joke! It really is!
Well yeah this article I feel has been strong with a message I hope you all got? If not I will make it clearer…. “we all need to group and stop arguing over power and money and to discuss things as “adults”” The world is full of stress and pressure lets all just hold hands for moment and take a big scream together? =)
This is Nessa trying to make the world a better place to be in and live in!
Until then stay Green =) Nes!

Hello Readers, I'm sorry its been a long while since I last wrote an article but I'm going into my final year at school so I thought I would get settled first.
Anyway I'm now 15 =] and in this article I will be talking about...
"Littering"
Litter is a thing that has been going on for years and needs to be cut down. It has been spoken about and spoken about and still not everyone understands that if we don't reduce on the amount of rubbish we drop, soon we will be opening our door and walking out on cigarette butts, banana skins and well rubbish!
I see many people around who just drop rubbish on the floor when there is a bin 10 steps away... we have to ask, are people just getting too plain lazy, to walk 10 steps more to put it in the bin.
A lot of people's excuse for littering is "Its biodegradable, it will disintergrate back in the Earth in 10 years time" well even if it is, it's not nice for people to see! It's a lot nicer to just hold it until you get to a bin, or just put it in your pocket. Also when you throw things away that could be recycled they are put into a big heap somewhere and that heap gets bigger every year. That heap also causes alot of pollution; if you live near a landfill and you get pregnant your baby has a 90% it will have something wrong with it, from all the chemicals you would be breathing in. Even if you don't live near one think how much you just throw away, not even thinking if it could be recyled, you're putting people in that position.
Litter and landfills also make our air polluted as our O-Zone layer is very thin, when the sun burns down onto the litter the smell rises in the air which we then breathe in. Diseases are also spread by the heat and wind.
The Earth is running out of resources to survive on and we're the only hope. Earth is our home and we need to realise that time and time again. It's giving us oxygen we need, water and warmth and a place to live, so why do we treat it like we can just go down to the corner shop and buy another one, because hello?? We can't!
We need to treat the Earth with respect and think once in a while what happens when the Earth finally dies? Will you still be alive? Will your loved ones still be alive? What about the history of Earth just gone in a blink of an eye? Dont Litter and pollute. Respect the place where you live!
Tell people what damage there doing to; don't spread rubbish, spread the word!! Next time you go to throw something away, think: could it be recyled, given to charity or reused? There are so many ways we could reduce the amount of litter we just need people to listen! We all need to spread the word and save our world that we created and are now destroying!
Until next time, this is Nessa trying to keep our society alive!

Hello again readers, here for my second article, this time it will be about,
"The US government"
Now I'm not going to go on about George Bush as I know some people aren't against him, but what I will say is in my own opinion I am against him, as I feel that all he worries about is money, popularity and power.
The UK and the USA, one small country and one big country, but even with our Prime Minister in charge of our country, we still follow a lot of what the USA does as well. It is good that we are friends with a large powerful country but following them has led us to negative consequences. For example, we lost lives in wars that the USA asked us to help fight for. Also they may send us over some good food and drink but it is very fattening which is making our country move into obesity.
Some people feel that if we stop following, helping or supporting the USA, that they will declare war on us. It is understandable to feel that but if we hadn't helped them we would still have all those lifes still. Also moving on, George Bush finally announced a couple of weeks ago that he thinks pollution and Global Warming is an important issue, though there has already been a lot of discussion about it.
I feel that the goverment is all the same, they only support companies if they are getting a lot of money from it. For example McDonalds, ok nice yummy food but in order to get that food the companies cut down a large amount of rain forests to raise cattle for our beef burgers etc... Also a petrol station called Esso which makes pollution but the Government still supports them because, they are a big company and the government gets given a lot of money from them.
For my conclusion, I feel without us following the USA we wouldn't have gone to war and lost lives, we might not have such an obesity problem either. Also for another fact the USA also with China is one of the main polluters. If the USA followed us and cut down on pollution the world also would be more healthier. We also would be England again with our own ways not mixed in with the USA in any way.
I hope you have enjoyed this article and until my next one, Keep the world green untill then, keep reading!

Hello readers, I'm Nessa, 14 from Milton Keynes.
For my first article I am pleased to be writing about,
"Why some people from my school don't feel strongly about climate change."
I interviewed students aged 11-14 about climate change, I found out that the younger students didn't understand what climate change was as when I asked them, "Do you think climate change will effect your future and why?" 75% asked what climate change was. An answer I got from a 14 year old was, "It won't affect my future as when it happens I will be dead, and won't have too deal with it all." This shows that young people are not aware that climate change is happening now and will affect everybody's daily life.
We as people, need to make other people aware that climate change is happening now, as we speak, and that everyone can help to reduce it. We also need to explain what causes climate change as was clear from one answer I got from a question, "Do you know what causes climate change?" The answer was, "I don't know, I'm not a scientist." I also feel we should make people more aware about recyclable products as none of the people I interviewed checked which products were recyclable. It is important to recycle because recycling products uses less energy than making new products.
One student I interviewed quoted, "I think people are over-reacting as it has happened before." For my conclusion I think if we raised awareness without "over-reacting" young people may listen and take in the information we are giving them that climate change is an important issue!
Until my next article this is Nessa, Peace out!
