Green Party Greater London Assembly MembersGreater London Authority

Two Greens were re-elected to the Greater London Authority in June 2004 and Darren Johnson and Jenny Jones continue to provide a Green voice for London on issues including planning developments, energy and waste strategies, how business and industry should develop, public transport and road safety, and policing.

The Greens have a support team of staff comprising researchers, PAs and a press officer. They welcome young Greens interested in joining them for short spells of work experience. The work varies according to particular political issues being addressed, and the time of year, but participants often undertake research on an issue the Greens wish to highlight, as well as attending Assembly and Committee meetings, with a chance to see how the corridors of power in a strategic authority operate.

The GLA operates from City Hall, Queens Walk, London SE1 2AA, next to Tower Bridge. If you're interested in working with the GLA Greens, please contact greenpartygroup AT london.gov.uk, tel. 0207 983 4411. Visit the London Green Party Website.

Scottish Parliament

Although he doesn't have room to take on work experience students in his office, Robin Harper is happy to take people on work shadow, usually for a day, sometimes up to a week - although he does warn that they need to be quick on their feet to keep up!
